Event Title: Olympic-Taichi-Exhibition

Organizer: Southern California Taichichuan Association (SCTA)

 

Mission: To identify us as leaders in promoting Tai Chi in the United States and have more people not only get to know Tai Chi but also experience its miraculous health benefits.

 

Theme: Peace in mind & Peace in body

(Theme remains open to discussion:  Theme should manifest Olympic spirit and appeal to the public)

 

Date: Aug. 10, 2008, Sunday

Time: 9:30-11:30am

Place: Brook-side Park 

Location: 360 North Arroyo Blvd. Pasadena, CA 91103

 

Considerations in selecting a place:

1.      Place of significance,

2.      Place of convenience,

3.      Place of enough parking.

 

Expected participants: 5,000 people

 

Program Content:

 

1.      9:30am: arriving, network, multi-mini-workshops and multi-location-demonstrations.

2.      10:30am Assembly: Chairman Sun Anguang open speech (2 min).

3.      “The Scientific Research on Taichi” presented by Prof. Shin Lin, Ph.D, UCI (6 min)

4.      “Taichi Benefits on Old Adults” by Prof. Srosh J. Motivala Ph.D, UCLA (6 min)

5.      Two Cancer survivors testimonial (2 X 3 min)

6.      Big Celebrities Speech: (candidates to be decided) (4 min)

·        Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger;

·        “Godfather of Physical Fitness” Jack LaLanne;

·        Super Star Bette Midler.

7.      Leader of the Crisell Commercial Team, Ted Crisell talks on “Taichi & Health” (7 min).

8.      National ranked motivational speaker Michel Guzy leads Assemble Meditation with guided imagery (7 min).

9.      5000 people assembly Taichi movement demonstration as described below (15 min).

·        Opening and closing hands: open as wide as shoulders, closed as narrow and face,

·        Clouded hands: wash face with left hand, wash face with right hand,

·        Rooster stands on one leg: lift left foot with left hand; lift right foot with right hand

10.  Finish at 11:30am

 

Deployment and Setting:

 

1.      Nine People Color Guards & Rifle Detail. Honor Guards of United States Army Volunteers Reserve

2.      200 national and regional flags

3.      200-Chinese-Traditional-Marching-Drums

4.      500 people making Five-Ring-OlympicLogo

5.      5,000 people wearing same color uniforms

 

Events feasibility consideration:

 

1.      Easy to operate: The focus of the event is the number of participants and not the level of performance.

2.      Open to all people: We'll have participants of all cultures, ages and walks of life.

3.      Minimum technical preparation and requirement: Most part of our job is to have 5000 people show up that day.

4.      Minimum funds requirement.

 

Preparations:

 

1.      First SCTA Expanded meeting on July 13, 2008 at Taichi Academy of Los Angeles. We expect 40 people to present. The purpose of the meeting is to warm up for the next 100-people-news-conference. All discussion is in serving the purpose of carrying out Olympic-Taichi-Exhibition. (This task has been successfully fulfilled. See attached picture & newspaper)

 

2.      100-people-news-conference is scheduled at 2:30 Sunday afternoon, Feb. 17. (Place: E-World USA Holding.Inc  Address: 9550 Flair Drive #308,El Monte, CA 91731). The purpose of the meeting is to do propaganda to create a big picture of the event.

 

 

3.      Second News Release is scheduled at 2:30 Sunday afternoon, March 30 (Place: same as above). The purpose of the meeting is to release news to the mainstream media. People invited to the News Release will include community leaders, celebrities, doctors of western and Chinese, scientists doing research on Taichi, masters and practitioners, volunteers, China Consulate General, county and city officials. (This task has been successfully fulfilled. See attached picture & newspaper)

 

4.      Make full use of mass media: invite all newspapers, TV broadcastings and radio stations, from both Chinese communities and mainstream societies.

 

5.      From March 1, 2008, seminars or committee meetings will be held every other week.

6.      On June 14, 2008 at 4:00pm to 8:00pm. We’ll have Taichi founder Zhang San Feng Banquet with martial arts performance and demonstration. It will be held at the Arcadia Community Center. (365 Campus Drive, Arcadia, CA 91007)

 

7.      Third Press conference: Assembly of all leaders and volunteers. When & Where: 2:30 pm, July 20 at E-World USA Holding. Inc (9550 Flair Drive #308,El Monte, CA 91731).

 

Operation Strategies:

 

One: Spread the words

 

1.      Make full uses of mass media, newspapers, TV and radio broadcastings, etc.

2.      Take advantage of Internet resources,

3.      Use convenient emails,

4.      Place posters and flyers to colleges, libraries, bookstores, supermarkets and others public places.

5.      Pass words to churches, senior centers, hospitals, rehabilitation centers, self-support group of all kinds of diseases, charities, fitness clubs, etc.

6.      Ensure 5,000 participants, we need to make event known to 150,000 people.

 

Two: find leaders and volunteers

 

1.      Use all resources, Internet, emails, printing materials, word of mouth to attract leaders and volunteer.

2.      Leaders' job is to find passionate volunteers and bring hundreds of people to the event. Volunteer's job is to pass the words and distribute flyers.

 

Three: Get support from society

 

We believe in the power of the focused intention of many. We also believe in the power of each contributing a little.

 

1.      Donate money is support

2.      Attend meeting is support.

3.      Participate event is support

4.      Pass the word to others is support

5.      Encouragement is support.

6.      Say prayer for us is also support.

 

Four: Incentives and Rewards

 

1.      Issues honor certificates and credential plaques.

2.      Acknowledge leaders' and volunteers' contribution through our website.

3.      Introduce & recommend Taichi teachers through our website.

4.      Give souvenir T-shirt to each participant.

5.      Introduce contributors to news media

6.      Be in group-pictures of historical significance.

7.      Be in souvenir picture book.

 

Five: Prepare participants:

 

1.      Reach out and establish fixed location to teach Taichi

2.      SCTA provides teachers to teach Taiji in different locations.

3.      SCTA provides Taiji training at fix time in certain locations on weekends.

 

Six: Encourage donations

 

1.      This Olympic-Taichi-Exhibition is non-profit.

2.      This event will be of great historical significance.  It is a great honor to be contributors, sponsors and donators.

3.      Raised funds will be supervised and managed by two STCA registered CPAs.  All expenses are decided by the board and open to the public.
