Running Spirit Walker deep into Red Maps doesn't feel like playing a normal summoner. You're not just hiding behind pets and hoping they behave. You're setting up damage windows, keeping curses active, and letting one oversized bird do most of the ugly work. The tree shouldn't be treated like a pure damage race. On the left side, Evasion and Deflection are what stop random hits from ending a good run. You're still fragile if you stand still, so don't. On the right side, Trusted Kinship is the big moment for the build, since it lets you run different companion types together. After that, reservation efficiency becomes a real priority. More Spirit flexibility means fewer awkward compromises. Poison chance, extra chaos damage, companion area, inherited Strength, and Onslaught on kill all help the army feel faster and less clumsy. The damage bonus against electrocuted enemies is also worth planning around, since it lines up neatly with the Mage package.
Gear that makes the setup feel smooth
For weapons, a high physical spear is hard to beat. Something in the style of a strong Broad Spear with big flat physical damage gives the bird the kind of scaling it wants, and added lightning is a nice bonus. The off-hand Sceptre should ideally bring plus minion skill levels and attack speed, especially if it's holding Skeleton Warrior or another utility minion.
