The final league game of the Indian Premier League 2026 had almost everything. Big sixes, dropped catches, reviews, pressure moments and one innings from KL Rahul that completely changed the mood of the match.SkyExch Blogs
At Eden Gardens, Delhi Capitals came out attacking from the start and never really slowed down. Kolkata Knight Riders had their moments with the ball, especially through Sunil Narine and Varun Chakaravarthy, but Delhi still managed to cross the 200-run mark in a high-pressure game. For fans sitting in the stadium, this was one of those matches where every over had something happening. No slow phase. No breathing space for bowlers. Delhi Capitals Started Fast and Never Looked Back Abishek Porel looked aggressive from the first over itself. He attacked Anukul Roy early and picked up back-to-back boundaries that immediately gave Delhi momentum. KKR almost got him in the fourth over when Kartik Tyagi forced an edge, but the catch was dropped behind the stumps. That moment actually hurt Kolkata badly because Porel kept playing freely after that. Even though Saurabh Dubey finally removed him for 22, the platform was already there for KL Rahul. And Rahul looked in complete control. Not rushed. Not forcing shots. Just proper timing and smart placement. The way he handled both pace and spin was probably the biggest difference in the innings. KL Rahul Took Over the Match Rahul’s innings was full of clean hitting but what stood out more was how easy he made batting look on a surface where some other batters struggled for timing. He attacked Cameron Green early with a beautiful inside-out boundary and then launched a trademark six over the leg side. Once he settled, KKR’s bowlers started looking short of answers. Against Sunil Narine, Rahul used his feet brilliantly. That straight six down the ground in the seventh over completely shifted pressure back onto Kolkata. Then came the over against Kartik Tyagi where Rahul smashed a four, another boundary and then a massive six over long-off to reach his fifty. It was a proper T20 knock. Not reckless batting. Just smart attacking cricket. Rahul eventually scored 60 off only 30 balls before Anukul Roy dismissed him trying another big shot. But by then, the damage was already done. Sahil Parakh Played the Perfect Supporting Role While Rahul grabbed most of the attention, Sahil Parakh quietly played a really useful innings from the other end. He attacked Narine with confidence and also handled Varun Chakaravarthy better than many expected. His reverse sweep for four against Varun was probably one of the cleanest shots of the innings. Sahil’s 24 runs might not look huge on paper, but those runs helped Delhi maintain momentum during the middle overs. And honestly, that matters a lot in T20 cricket. Sometimes partnerships are more important than individual hundreds.Sky Exchange Login
Axar Patel and David Miller Finished Strong After Rahul got out, KKR looked like they had a chance to slow things down. But Axar Patel and David Miller had different plans. Axar played one of those classic captain’s knocks where he looked calm but kept finding boundaries regularly. He even completed his 100th IPL six during the innings with a huge hit off Varun Chakaravarthy. David Miller then came in and did exactly what Delhi needed. Power hitting. Simple. Kartik Tyagi bowled a slower ball and Miller absolutely launched it into the stands. In the final over, he smashed back-to-back sixes off Saurabh Dubey and pushed Delhi beyond the 200-run mark. Ashutosh Sharma also added some important late runs with clever shots behind the wicket and one stylish six over cover. Delhi Capitals finally ended with a massive total after scoring freely in the death overs. KKR Bowlers Had a Mixed Night Sunil Narine picked up an important wicket and had a few good moments, but even he went for runs at crucial stages. Varun Chakaravarthy removed Axar Patel but struggled whenever he missed his length. Rahul and Axar both attacked him aggressively once the ball landed in their hitting zones. Saurabh Dubey picked up two wickets, including David Miller late in the innings, but his final over became expensive because of the two massive sixes. The dropped catch early in the innings also did not help Kolkata at all. CSK vs SRH 63rd Match 2026 Prediction
In matches like these, one missed opportunity can easily cost 20 or 30 extra runs. And that is exactly what happened here. A Proper Eden Gardens Run Fest This match had the typical Eden Gardens feel. Fast outfield, loud crowd, short pressure moments and batters constantly attacking. For neutral fans, it was entertaining throughout because the game never became slow. Every few balls there was either a boundary, wicket or review happening. Delhi Capitals will feel happy with the way their batting clicked before the playoffs phase, especially KL Rahul’s form. KKR, meanwhile, will probably look back at a few missed chances with the ball and in the field. But overall, this was exactly the kind of IPL match fans expect at the end of the league stage. High scoring, dramatic and full of momentum swings.
