Ohtani’s Historic 53-Game On-Base Streak Comes to an End

Just days ago, Shohei Ohtani was chasing franchise history. On Wednesday night, his remarkable 53-game on-base streak officially came to an end.

The two-way superstar went 0-for-4 at the plate in a 3-0 loss to the Giants, failing to reach base for the first time since August 23, 2025. The streak tied him with Shawn Green for the second-longest in Dodgers history, trailing only Duke Snider’s 58-game run. Despite the offensive silence, Shohei Ohtani dominated on the mound with six shutout innings and seven strikeouts. Manager Dave Roberts noted that Ohtani remains focused on resetting and helping the team win rather than individual accomplishments.
