Hi everyone! Listen, here’s the story: my father has dreamed of visiting Tunisia his whole life, and for his birthday, our whole family is finally flying to Monastir. He’s an avid fisherman, and I really want to surprise him — to go out to sea on a professional fishing charter so he can fish in the open Mediterranean. I’m a complete beginner at this, so I’m wondering: how realistic is it to find a skipper there who doesn’t just take tourists in circles, but actually knows the good fishing spots?

Another thing that worries me: we’re flying into Skanes-Monastir, which is only about 10 km from the port, but what’s the situation with transfers to the marina right now? If we have a lot of luggage, will local taxi drivers charge triple when they see we’re heading straight to the yachts, or is it better to book a car in advance so the first day of our trip doesn’t get spoiled?

Monastir is undoubtedly a location where you can have such an experience! I went there last year and I can testify that the marina's vibe is very soothing. So, to spare yourself the trouble of roaming around, I recommend that you look at yacht rental Tunisia on the GetBoat website. Like, you can choose there fishing charters catering to all skill levels beforehand. That is precisely how we got a sunset cruise booked. Our skipper was excellent - he not only showed us everything, but also gave us a lesson on the local currents! As for fishing equipment, you can clarify that directly with them. About transfers, there are plenty of taxis there, but I advise to either ask for the meter running or agree on the price beforehand. And how many days do you plan to rent this fishing charter for?
