Hi everyone,

I am in the middle of a pretty big life change. Indeed, I am a single mom currently living in Los Angeles, and in a few months, my daughter and I will be relocating to London for work and a fresh start. Exciting, yes, but also a little overwhelming. One of the things I am trying to sort out before the move is car insurance in the UK.

In the US, I have always handled my own insurance, but the UK system seems a bit different. I am planning to buy a small used car once I arrive, since I will need it for school runs and daily errands. While researching online, I came across Multi Quote Time as an insurance comparison site. Yes, it seems convenient, especially since I won't have time to contact every insurer individually.

That said, I'd really love to hear from people who actually live in the UK or have experience with this. Has anyone here used Multi Quote Time to compare policies? Did it help you find a reasonable deal, or would you recommend another comparison site instead?

Also, a few things I am wondering about:

- As someone moving from the US, will my driving history count for anything in the UK?

- Are there insurers that are more friendly toward international drivers?

- Is using comparison platforms the normal way people shop for insurance in the UK?

- Any tips for keeping premiums reasonable as a newcomer?

I am trying to get as much sorted as possible before the move, so I am not running around stressed when we arrive. Any guidance or personal experiences would honestly mean a lot.

Thanks in advance!
