Tadalista 20 mg tablets are not sildenafil-based. They contain tadalafil, which is a different active ingredient from sildenafil. Both tadalafil and sildenafil belong to the PDE-5 (phosphodiesterase type 5) inhibitor class and are used to treat erectile dysfunction (ED), but they differ in chemical structure, onset of action, and duration of effect.
How Tadalafil Works: During sexual stimulation, the body releases nitric oxide, which increases cyclic GMP (cGMP) levels in penile tissue. cGMP relaxes blood vessels, allowing more blood to flow into the penis. Tadalafil in TADALISTA 20 blocks the PDE-5 enzyme, which normally breaks down cGMP, helping sustain an erection. Sexual arousal is necessary for the medication to work.
Differences from Sildenafil:
Duration: Tadalafil lasts up to 36 hours, while sildenafil typically lasts 4–6 hours.
Onset: Tadalafil may take slightly longer to act but provides longer flexibility.
Daily Use: Tadalafil can be taken as a low-dose daily therapy, whereas sildenafil is usually taken only as needed.
Usage and Precautions: Tadalista 20 mg is usually taken 30–60 minutes before sexual activity. It should not be combined with nitrate medications or certain heart drugs due to the risk of dangerous drops in blood pressure. Men with heart, liver, or kidney problems should consult a doctor before use.
