A dianthus perennial needs the right kind of conditions to stay in top shape and keep on blooming. First off, it loves full sun, that's at least 5-6 hours of direct sunlight every day, but a little bit of afternoon shade is okay too - especially if you live somewhere really hot.
The type of dirt it grows in is also a big deal. Dianthus Perennial do best in soil that drains well and has a bit of a alkaline pH. If your soil is heavy or prone to water-logging, it can give the roots some grief.
When it comes to watering, just keep it moderate. Keep the soil damp but not drenched. Let the top layer of soil dry out a bit between waterings.
An occasional feed with a balanced fertilizer and regular deadheading (that means snipping off the faded blooms) will encourage it to keep on blooming.
Give your dianthus perennial some decent sunlight, well-draining soil, a watering routine that makes sense, and the basics of good care, and it'll thrive and look great year after year.
