Filitra 20 mg contains the active ingredient Vardenafil, which is a medication used to treat erectile dysfunction (ED). It works by increasing blood flow to the penis during sexual arousal, helping to achieve and maintain an erection. Can Filitra 20 mg be taken with other ED medications? No, it is generally not recommended to take Filitra (Vardenafil) with other ED medications. Here's why: Risk of Severe Side Effects: Combining different ED medications (such as Viagra [Sildenafil], Cialis [Tadalafil], or Levitra [Vardenafil]) can cause serious side effects like a significant drop in blood pressure, dizziness, fainting, or even a heart attack. Filitra 20 mg medications work by relaxing blood vessels to increase blood flow to the penis, which can lead to dangerously low blood pressure when combined, especially if you already have low blood pressure or are on medications that affect blood pressure. Similar Mechanism of Action: ED medications like Filitra, Viagra, and Cialis all work in similar ways by inhibiting an enzyme called PDE5 (phosphodiesterase type 5), which helps regulate blood flow. Taking more than one PDE5 inhibitor at a time can lead to an over-enhanced effect, increasing the risk of unwanted and dangerous side effects. Overdose Risk: Using multiple ED medications together can increase the risk of overdosing on the active ingredients, potentially leading to side effects such as prolonged erections (known as priapism), which can be painful and require medical attention.
