A Magento 2 reservation extension manages time slots in a clear way. Staff set the hours or sessions they want to offer. Each slot can have a limit on how many bookings it can take. When a user picks a time, the system checks if the slot is still open. If the slot is full, it no longer shows in the list. Staff can change hours or limits at any time.
