Rifagut 400 mg contains Rifaximin, a non-absorbable antibiotic primarily used to treat gastrointestinal bacterial infections. It is commonly prescribed for:

- Irritable Bowel Syndrome with Diarrhea (IBS-D)
- Traveler’s diarrhea caused by non-invasive E. coli
- Hepatic encephalopathy (to reduce recurrence, as part of a long-term regimen)
- Certain intestinal bacterial overgrowth conditions (as advised by a doctor)

How It’s Used:

- Taken orally, usually 2–3 times daily depending on the condition.
- Duration of treatment varies as per medical guidance.
- Swallow tablets whole with water.

Precautions:

- Use only under medical supervision.
- Not effective for infections outside the intestines (minimal absorption).
- Possible side effects: nausea, abdominal pain, headache, bloating.
- Seek medical advice if symptoms worsen or do not improve.

Storage:

- Store in a cool, dry place away from sunlight.
- Keep out of reach of children.
