I recently checked the MMR value of my 2018 Accord, and honestly, I was shocked — it was significantly lower than what similar cars are listed for in my area. I thought dealers were exaggerating their margins, but after reading more about MMR, it makes sense. MMR reflects wholesale auction prices, where cars sell fast, as-is, and sometimes below market. Dealers then add transport, repairs, cleaning, and profit margin. Once I factored all that in, the difference didn’t seem so crazy. I’m now using MMR as a baseline instead of a final value. Anyone else experience “MMR shock”? Did it change how you priced or negotiated?
