Hey everyone,
I’ve been looking into digital signage for transportation areas (like bus stops, train stations, airports, etc.) and wanted to hear from people who’ve actually worked with these systems.
Lately, I’ve noticed a big shift toward using screens instead of printed boards. Bus stop digital displays now show arrival times, delays, weather updates, and sometimes even ads. Train stations are moving in the same direction with passenger information screens that are way clearer than the old boards.
Airports, of course, are on a whole different level. You’ve got digital wayfinding, flight information displays, advertising screens, interactive kiosks—basically everything that helps passengers get around without constantly asking staff. What I’m curious about is how reliable these systems are in real conditions, especially the outdoor ones for bus stops.
Some things I’m trying to understand better:
If anyone here has experience—good or bad—with digital signage in public transport environments or airports, I’d really appreciate your input. What should someone watch out for? What features matter the most? Anything you’d do differently?
Thanks in advance!
