Gulf Air Wheelchair Assistance is part of the airline’s commitment to accessibility and inclusive travel. The airline provides comprehensive support to passengers with reduced mobility, ensuring their needs are met both on the ground and in the air. The service includes curbside assistance, check-in support, help through security, and escort to the gate and aircraft. Upon arrival, passengers also receive help with disembarkation, immigration, and baggage collection. Gulf Air offers three types of wheelchair services: WCHR (ramp access), WCHS (stairs access), and WCHC (complete assistance to/from the aircraft seat). Passengers can choose the most suitable option during booking. If you’re bringing your own wheelchair or mobility device, Gulf Air allows it to be transported free of charge. For electric wheelchairs, prior approval is necessary to comply with safety regulations. Passengers are encouraged to make all requests at least 48 hours in advance to ensure availability. Wheelchair Assistance also complies with international civil aviation accessibility standards. Staff are trained to provide respectful and personalized service. The policy is designed to support passengers of all ages and medical conditions, making air travel more inclusive for everyone.
