Prescott “Puck” Smith is a former college basketball coach, Vietnam War veteran, and author. After graduating from Southwestern Oklahoma State University in 1965, he began his career as a teacher and coach before being drafted into the U.S. Army in 1966. He later volunteered for Infantry Officer Candidate School and went on to serve as an Army Ranger during the Vietnam War.
