Vilitra 20 mg, which contains vardenafil, is a medication used to treat erectile dysfunction (ED) by increasing blood flow to the penis during sexual stimulation. While effective for many men, certain individuals should avoid taking Vilitra 20 mg due to potential health risks or drug interactions.
Men who are currently taking nitrate medications (often prescribed for chest pain or heart conditions) should not take VILITRA 20 as the combination can cause a dangerous drop in blood pressure. Similarly, those using alpha-blockers for high blood pressure or prostate problems should consult their doctor, as this combination can also lead to hypotension.
Individuals with serious heart conditions, including recent heart attack, stroke, or severe arrhythmias, should avoid Vilitra. It is also not recommended for men with severe liver or kidney disease, retinitis pigmentosa (a rare genetic eye disorder), or a history of vision loss related to PDE5 inhibitors.
Men with a known allergy to vardenafil or any of the inactive ingredients in Vilitra should not use the medication. In addition, combining Vilitra with alcohol, recreational drugs, or certain antibiotics or antifungal medications can increase side effects or reduce its effectiveness. Always consult a healthcare provider before use.
