Emirates Airlines Flight Change Policy

Emirates Airlines Flight Change Policy includes specific provisions for young travelers that differ from standard adult tickets. For infants under the age of two traveling on an adult's lap, the baggage allowance is typically one checked bag with a maximum weight of 10kg (22 lbs), in addition to the standard carry-on allowance for the accompanying adult. If you need to change a flight for an infant, the change is processed as part of the adult's booking. The fees and fare differences for the infant will be calculated based on the infant's fare, which is often a percentage of the adult fare. For children aged two and above who occupy their own seat, they are entitled to the same baggage allowance as the adult they are traveling with. This means if you change an adult's ticket from Economy Standard (1 x 23kg) to Economy Flex Plus, the child's allowance will also be updated to 1 x 23kg, provided they are on the same booking. However, it is the responsibility of the booking holder to ensure all baggage allowances are correctly applied during the change process. Unaccompanied minors (children traveling without an adult) are subject to Emirates' UM (Unaccompanied Minor) service, which has its own set of rules and fees. Any flight changes for an unaccompanied minor must be handled with extreme care, and it is often a mandatory requirement that the change be made in person at the airport check-in counter or through the call center, as online changes may not be permitted for these specific bookings due to the need for additional documentation and supervision arrangements. Parents or guardians should contact Emirates well in advance of any intended change to understand the full implications and any additional administrative costs associated with modifying a minor's travel itinerary.
