Hi everyone, I’ve recently been struggling with a recurring boil and came across some mentions of glycerin ichthammol as a possible home remedy. It’s not something I was familiar with, but I read that it’s been traditionally used to help draw out infections, especially for things like abscesses, ingrown hairs, and even insect bites. What stood out to me is that the ichthammol helps reduce inflammation while glycerin keeps the area moisturized and soft—apparently making it easier for pus to drain naturally. I’m wondering if anyone here has tried it, and whether it actually made a noticeable difference in healing time. Are there any side effects I should watch for? Do you cover the area completely after applying, or just leave it open? I’m always cautious about trying topical products without knowing how others respond, so I’d appreciate any experiences or feedback. I also found a solid breakdown of how to apply it safely and when to consult a doctor read more here if you’re interested
