My flight was delayed three hours due to a thunderstorm, but the experience wasn’t bad at all. The United Airlines ORD Terminal staff handled the situation professionally and with great communication. We received timely alerts via the app and announcements at the gate every 30 minutes. Agents were proactive in helping passengers find alternate flights and rebook connections, even guiding elderly passengers personally. I used the extra time to grab dinner from Tortas Frontera, which I highly recommend—it’s delicious airport food. There was also plenty of seating near my gate, and I found outlets to charge my phone and laptop. Though no one enjoys delays, United’s handling of the situation at this terminal made it far less stressful. The service and facilities available helped me stay comfortable and informed. I’ve had far worse experiences with other airlines, so this stood out. Kudos to the team for keeping customer service a priority even during disruptions.
