When my aging parents required assistance with rescheduling their flight to Istanbul because of a family crisis, I brought them to the Turkish Airlines Chicago Office. My two parents only speak limited English, so I was concerned about how we would cope. Surprisingly, the employees had Turkish-speaking members who immediately put my parents at ease. They politely outlined the alternatives for changing the flights in Turkish and then walked us through it patiently. What impressed us was that they were empathetic—they really heard us out and made sure to assist us. The staff arranged two new seats within the same week and labeled everything legibly in both English and Turkish to avoid misunderstandings. They also checked the baggage policy so as not to cause any confusion upon arrival at the airport. This degree of personalized and multi-lingual assistance was immensely comforting. It was a relief to see an airline office that is so concerned with knowing its passengers' histories and requirements. The Turkish Airlines Chicago Office provided much more than minimal service—it provided us with assurance at a time we needed it most. I would highly recommend them to anyone requiring personal assistance, particularly for elderly travelers.
