Malegra DXT is a combination medication typically containing Sildenafil (for erectile dysfunction) and Dutasteride (used for benign prostatic hyperplasia - BPH). Because it treats two conditions, there are some important situations when you should avoid taking Malegra DXT: When to avoid Malegra DXT: If you are allergic to sildenafil, dutasteride, or any ingredients in the tablet. If you take nitrates (e.g., nitroglycerin for chest pain) or nitric oxide donors — combining these with sildenafil can cause dangerous drops in blood pressure. If you are taking medicines like alpha-blockers for high blood pressure or prostate problems without doctor supervision Malegra DXT combination can also cause low blood pressure or dizziness. If you have severe heart problems such as: Recent heart attack or stroke (within the last 6 months) Unstable angina Severe heart failure Low blood pressure or uncontrolled high blood pressure If you have severe liver or kidney impairment. If you have certain eye disorders, like retinitis pigmentosa or a history of sudden vision loss related to NAION (non-arteritic anterior ischemic optic neuropathy). If you are a woman or under 18 years old. Malegra DXT is meant for adult men. If you are planning to father a child soon — dutasteride can affect sperm and fertility. Other considerations: Avoid if you are taking other PDE5 inhibitors or ED medications. Talk to your doctor before starting if you have any medical conditions or take other drugs.
