Tadalista Professional is a sublingual formulation of tadalafil, developed by Fortune Healthcare, an Indian pharmaceutical company. It is designed to treat erectile dysfunction (ED) by enhancing the absorption rate, leading to a quicker onset of action compared to traditional oral tablets. The active ingredient, tadalafil, was originally discovered by ICOS Corporation in collaboration with Glaxo Wellcome (now GlaxoSmithKline) in the early 1990s. Initially, tadalafil was researched as a treatment for cardiovascular conditions, but its potential for treating ED became evident following the success of sildenafil (Viagra) by Pfizer. In 1998, ICOS formed a joint venture with Eli Lilly, known as Lilly ICOS LLC, to develop and market tadalafil as Cialis. The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) approved tadalafil for ED treatment in 2003. In 2007, Eli Lilly acquired ICOS Corporation, gaining full control over Cialis. Fortune Healthcare later introduced Tadalista Professional as a cost-effective alternative to branded tadalafil medications, offering the same therapeutic benefits with enhanced absorption for quicker results. This formulation has gained popularity due to its affordability and effectiveness in managing ED.
