The scheme is designed for individuals engaged in traditional occupations passed down through generations. These include, but are not limited to:
Blacksmiths Carpenters Potters Goldsmiths Cobblers Tailors Basket weavers Stone carvers Barbers Masons The PM Vishwakarma Yojana covers 18 traditional trades, ensuring a wide range of skilled workers can benefit from the program.
Benefits of the PM Vishwakarma Yojana 1. Collateral-Free Loans Artisans can avail of a loan of up to ?3 lakhs in two tranches: ?1 lakh initially and ?2 lakhs upon successful repayment. These loans come with a concessional interest rate of 5%, making them accessible and affordable.
2. Skill Development and Certification Beneficiaries receive up to 15 days of skill training, including exposure to modern tools, techniques, and business practices. After completing the training, artisans are awarded a skill certificate to help boost credibility and trust in the market.
3. Tool Kit Incentive An incentive of up to ?15,000 is provided to purchase modern tools and equipment. This improves productivity and enables artisans to meet current market demands more efficiently.
4. Digital Empowerment and Market Access The scheme emphasizes digital literacy by offering training on digital payments and marketing. Artisans are also connected with e-commerce platforms and exhibitions, expanding their reach beyond local markets.
5. Supportive Ecosystem The program fosters a network of mentorship, marketing, and branding support. Government agencies, banks, and local bodies work together to ensure that artisans not only receive aid but continue to grow sustainably.
