A tax code 0t means your personal allowance does not count towards your income, so you will be taxed on all your income. Often this occurs if HMRC haven’t got enough information about your income, or you start a new job without submitting a P45. If you’ve used up your full allowance in the 0T code, then you can also apply this code. Under this code, income is taxable according to basic, higher or extra rates according to one’s earnings. If you are going to overpay tax, make sure you check and update your tax code with HMRC.
