There are several pitfalls that test-takers encounter in the PTE repeat sentence section. One common mistake is trying to memorize the entire sentence word-for-word, leading to hesitation or pauses when recalling less familiar words. Another issue is incorrect pronunciation or word order, both of which can negatively impact the score. Some candidates also speak too fast or too slowly, either in a rush to finish or from overthinking the sentence structure.

It's important to avoid inserting extra words or guessing when unsure. Instead, aim to reproduce as much of the sentence as you remember, maintaining fluency and intonation. Skipping the use of practice tools like mock tests or skipping warm-up sessions before the real exam can also lower your performance. Practicing regularly, listening actively, and maintaining a steady pace are the best ways to avoid these mistakes. Developing these habits will greatly improve your score in the pte repeat sentence section.
