Like any healthcare professional, urologists have personal preferences, therefore their sexual orientation may be important to some people but unimportant to others.
While some patients may not find it as important, others may feel more at ease discussing private or delicate health issues with a healthcare professional of the same sex.
When selecting a sex of the urologist matter, the most important factors to take into account should be their level of training, experience, and specialty in the relevant field. All urologists get intensive training to treat a variety of urological problems, regardless of gender.
