This is the main male sex hormone. Low testosterone is a common cause of ED, as it affects libido and erections. Levels normally decline with age but can dip abnormally in younger men due to conditions like hypogonadism.LH stimulates testosterone production. High or low levels can indicate testicular problems causing low testosterone and ED.

FSH works with LH to stimulate sex hormone production. Abnormal levels need evaluation.Elevated prolactin reduces testosterone. A benign pituitary tumor is a common cause.Thyroid disorders can lower testosterone. Hyper- or hypothyroidism may impact sexual function.Diabetes and prediabetes are strongly associated with ED, due to nerve and vascular damage from high blood sugar.High cholesterol increases risk of atherosclerosis which can restrict blood flow.
