RAID (Redundant Array of Independent Disks) combines multiple hard drives or SSDs to enhance data redundancy and performance, a technique often utilized in IT hardware. I have personally seen the benefits of RAID in my experience.
One way RAID enhances data redundancy is through mirroring, which is commonly implemented in RAID 1. In this RAID level, data is duplicated across multiple drives. If one drive fails, the mirrored drive retains an exact replica of the data, ensuring that no information is lost. I have witnessed instances where a drive failure occurred, but the data remained intact due to the redundancy provided by RAID 1.
