Vidalista 5 mg is used to treat erectile dysfunction in men. It also treats symptoms of an enlarged prostate (benign prostatic hyperplasia, or BPH). It works by improving blood flow to the penis. This causes the blood vessels to relax and widen, resulting in a firm erection during sexual stimulation. It is important to note that this medication does not cause a man to lose his erection during sexual intercourse and does not prevent pregnancy or the spread of sexually transmitted diseases.
The active ingredient in this drug is tadalafil, which belongs to the class of medications known as PDE5 inhibitors. It blocks the action of this enzyme to prevent the breakdown of cGMP in the penis. Increased levels of cGMP cause the muscles in the penis to relax, which allows for an erection to form during sexual intercourse. This medicine does not cure erectile dysfunction and does not raise a man’s libido.
This medication is available as a tablet that must be taken orally. It is recommended to take the medication 30-60 minutes before sexual activity. The dosage varies per patient, so it is important to follow the doctor’s orders exactly. You should not take this drug with nitrates, such as Nitroglycerin or Isosorbide, which are used to treat angina and chest pain. Doing so could increase the risk of a life-threatening heart attack.
