Which format—jpg vs. png—should you keep your website loading as quickly as possible? PNG and JPEG both employ very different compression techniques. JPG images' stark contrasts between adjacent pixels make them unsuitable for line drawings and other textual or iconic visuals. PNG file format does not support non-RGB color spaces like CMYK because it was specifically designed for online image transfer rather than for printing.
