Choosing the right BOTE paddle board for you is a matter of considering the type of paddling experience you want to get out on and whether or not you'll be primarily a flat water paddler. You'll also need to decide whether or not you prefer an inflatable or a solid board.

The most important features to consider are thickness, weight capacity and the shape of a board's hull. While most paddlers choose a narrow and pointed (displacement) design, there are several other shapes that have varying performance advantages.

Thinner and wider BOTE Board Reviews are generally less prone to flexing when you're paddling, so they're good choices for smaller people who want to paddle in waves or whitewater. They'll also be lighter to transport.

Fins: The fins underneath a board near the tail help it track well in the water and increase stability. A long fin can add more speed to a board, while a shorter one will keep you more stable in shallower waters or near rocks.

Inflatables: The best inflatables inflate and deflate quickly, fold up into backpacks, and perform well in a variety of water conditions. However, they require more energy to inflate than a solid board, and they can be cumbersome to carry around.

Solid paddle boards: Typically heavier, a solid board can handle larger weights and can be rigged with additional gear for multiday trips from simple campouts to longer expeditions or to carry multiple people on a lake paddle. They're also a more durable option for use in rougher conditions like rocky coastlines or sharp sticks or logs.
