A key piece of the pilot's uniform is the aviator jacket, commonly referred to as the “bomber jacket.” The first time it was used was during World War I. But once General Chuck Yeager broke the sound barrier in 1947 and wore it, it gained popularity. The Aviator Jackets is a common cowhide or horsehide leather jacket worn by American pilots to keep them warm and protected from the wind at high altitudes.
