Tokyo Ghost Movie Coming From 007 Director Cary Fukunaga
Cary Fukunaga is set to direct a movie adaptation of Tokyo Ghost. pg
The next movie project from No Time to Die director Cary Fukunaga has been revealed. The Hollywood Reporter confirms that Fukunaga is working on a movie version of the cyberpunk comic series Tokyo Ghost at Warcraft studio Legendary. It appears to be early days for the project, however, as there is no word yet on when filming will begin, a cast, or anything else.
Set in the year 2089, Tokyo Ghost takes place in a time when "humanity has become fully addicted to technology as an escape from reality." The story focuses on Debbie Decay and Led Dent who get a job that takes them to the one place on Earth that has no technology: Japan.
Rick Remender, who created the Tokyo Ghost comic and worked with Avengers directors Joe and Anthony Russo on the SyFy series Deadly Class, is writing the script for the movie. The comic was drawn by Sean Murphy.
No release date, cast, or filming start-date has been announced for Tokyo Ghost.
Fukunaga's next movie is No Time to Die, which has been delayed multiple times but is now scheduled to release in cinemas in October. Fukunaga is also known for directing Beasts of No Nation and True Detective's first season. He is currently working with Tom Hanks as the director on the World War II series Masters of the Air.
